Many of the items in the section are not newer histories but are items printed that cover particular points in time. While this section does not focus on any particular country, state, or geographic region, many titles do include analysis and information by location. To do research focusing on a state, region, or country, see the sections devoted to places.

One area to also research is the "sugar trust" and each of the individual companies and people that were associated with that including John D. Spreckels' Western Sugar Refining Company and American Sugar Refining Company (ASR). Of particular note regarding the trust situation is the United States v. E. C. Knight Co. (Sugar Trust C) case.
