U.S. Supreme Court Records and Briefs

Dockets

Although the Law Library of Congress is one of ten depositories of Supreme Court records and briefs, dockets are not received as part of the depository collection from the Supreme Court directly. A set of microform dockets from the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (National Archives) is available for cases from 1791 to 1950. Additionally, the National Archives provides digital copies of its Engrossed Dockets from 1791 - 1995 as part of its Record Group 267.  Cases from the 2001 term to present may be accessed from the Supreme Court site.
