Telecommunications encompasses many industries including radio and television broadcasting, cable and satellite carriers and providers, internet service providers (ISPs), wired and wireless telecommunications carriers, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), and radar and satellite operations.
This research guide provides resources to aid business researchers to find valuable research information on the global telecommunications industry, its history, specific subsectors, and business and management. Media content, such as television programming, and technical specifications are beyond the scope of this guide. Instead, the focus is on telecommunications as an industry.
The guide provides some lists of resources for further study on the telecommunications industry such as subscription databases, free internet resources, industry blogs and trade associations. The section "Search the Library's Catalog" offers guidance for finding materials in the Library of Congress collections on the telecommunications industry.
