The purpose of this guide is to provide guidance to those researching the complex subject of U.S. trade policy. The intended audience ranges from trade policy practitioners, scholars, analysts, and business professionals to students and the general public interested in the intricacies of trade policy.
The resources included in the guide provide information on elements of trade policy, how policy is developed, who participates in its development, what effects trade policies have on trade and industry, and the place of the U.S. in the World Trade Organization. The listed research and advocacy organizations, current news sources, trade periodicals and databases will help you keep up to date on recent developments in U.S. Trade policy. Library of Congress online catalog searches will help find newest resources on the subject added to the Library's collection.
The majority of the resources in this guide are freely available on the Internet. However, access to the subscription databases included in this guide are limited to users who are on site at the Library of Congress, and the entries for these resources are so marked.
